Bed placement
Following from our last article on Feng Shui bed guidelines, we now take a look at Feng Shui bed placement.
Furniture positioning is one of the most important elements in Feng Shui. To place our bed appropriately we must first find the ‘commanding position.’ The commanding position is the area of the room furthest from the door that is not in line with the door. More often than not, this is the area diagonally opposite the door. This enables you to see the door without being directly inline with it. (See image)
Other important things to consider are:
– Balanced energy from each side of the bed i.e. bedside tables
– No sharp corners pointing in your direction
– Good supporting wall behind you
The supporting wall behind you is perhaps the most important of these elements. This supporting wall proves grounding, power and maximises your energies. This same rule can be applied to different rooms such as offices to give you the best commanding position.
Try to experiment with different bed angles in your commanding position and listen to your room to achieve the best results.
